Refund Policy

1. Payment Processing

Sentino subscriptions can be purchased through multiple channels:

The refund process depends on how you purchased your subscription. See sections below for details specific to each payment channel.

2. Free Trial

All paid subscriptions come with a 7-day free trial. During the trial period, you have full access to all premium features. You can cancel at any time during the trial and you will not be charged.

We recommend trying our free tier first to ensure Sentino meets your needs before starting a trial or subscription.

During any beta period, all premium features are available free of charge and no payments are processed, so this refund policy does not apply to beta usage.

3. Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time. To ensure your cancellation is processed before the next billing cycle, please cancel at least 48 hours before the end of your current billing period.

When you cancel:

  • You will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your current billing period
  • Your subscription will not renew at the end of the period
  • You will be downgraded to the free tier after your subscription expires
  • Your dictionary and data will be preserved
  • There are no refunds for unused portions of subscription periods

When you initiate cancellation from within the app, you may be presented with alternative options — such as a one-time retention discount — before your cancellation is finalized. Choosing an alternative is entirely optional; you can always proceed with the cancellation.

4. Refund Policy (Web / Paddle)

For subscriptions purchased on the web, in accordance with Paddle's buyer terms, you may request a refund within 14 days from the date your subscription was last renewed. Refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are provided at the discretion of Paddle and Sentino.

Important: Refund requests made more than 60 days after the transaction date will not be processed.

EU, EEA & UK consumers — statutory right of withdrawal:If you are a consumer based in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right under Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of the transaction and receive a full refund of the charges paid. This statutory right is automatically waived once you start downloading, streaming, using, or otherwise benefiting from the premium features within that 14-day window — a condition you accept at checkout in order to gain immediate access. The discretionary 14-day refund window described above applies in addition to this statutory right and is offered globally, regardless of jurisdiction.

5. Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be considered under the following circumstances:

  • Within 14 days of payment: If you are not satisfied with the service after your trial converts to a paid subscription, you may request a refund within 14 days of the charge.
  • Technical issues: If you experience significant technical problems that prevent you from using the service and we are unable to resolve them.
  • Accidental charges: If you were charged accidentally (e.g., forgot to cancel during trial or before renewal).

6. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds are generally not provided for:

  • Requests made more than 14 days after the most recent payment
  • Requests made more than 60 days after any transaction
  • Unused portions of subscription periods (no prorated refunds)
  • Change of mind after extended use of the service

Note: forgetting to cancel before a renewal does not by itself disqualify you from a refund — accidental renewal charges remain eligible under section 5 if reported within 14 days.

7. Plan Changes & Discounted Purchases

Switching between Monthly and Yearly plans: when you switch plans from the pricing page, the change is processed by Paddle. Any prorated charges, account credits, or partial refunds resulting from the switch are calculated and issued by Paddle according to its standard rules. Sentino does not compute proration directly.

Coupons and promotional discounts: if you applied a coupon or promotional code at checkout, any refund will be calculated against the amount you actually paid (the discounted total), not the list price of the plan.

8. How to Request a Refund (Web / Paddle)

For web purchases, you have two options:

  • Via Paddle: Visit paddle.net and use the Order Support feature to request a refund directly.
  • Via Sentino: Contact us at support@sentino.app with your account email address, the reason for your refund request, and any relevant transaction details.

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 2-3 business days.

9. Refunds for App Store & Google Play Purchases

If you purchased your subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, refunds are managed by Apple or Google respectively, not by Sentino or Paddle.

Refund eligibility and processing for app store purchases are subject to Apple's and Google's respective refund policies. Sentino cannot process refunds for purchases made through these stores. If you need assistance, contact us at support@sentino.app and we will do our best to help.

10. Refund Processing (Web / Paddle)

Once a web refund is approved:

  • Refunds are processed by Paddle
  • The refund will be credited to your original payment method
  • The refund includes any VAT or sales tax that Paddle collected at the time of purchase
  • Processing time is typically 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer
  • Your premium access will be revoked once the refund is processed

11. Annual Subscriptions

For annual subscriptions:

  • The same 14-day refund window applies from the date of payment
  • After 14 days, refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis
  • Partial or prorated refunds are not guaranteed and are at Paddle's discretion

12. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Existing subscriptions will be honored under the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
